Here at Dripbusters, we recognise that the majority of people are genuine and like to build working relationships on a trust basis. That said, every company requires terms and conditions to protect itself and its customers from uncertainty. We hope that you find these reasonable and if you need clarification on any of the points below, please contact us. By placing an order with us you agree to these terms and conditions.
1. An order for work is confirmed only when a quote has been accepted in writing. This may be by either email means or by post. At this point the order becomes subject to the cancellation conditions detailed below.
2. The date on which a confirmed work order is carried out can be changed with the approval of Dripbusters Ltd only. We will make every possible effort to accommodate requests to change dates but this is not always possible.
3. Any order may be cancelled with 7 days notice and no fee will be payable. If an order is cancelled with 6 or less days notice the order is subject to a 25% cancellation charge. These charges exist to protect our business against lost revenue caused by late cancellation of work when we could have taken on another work order.
4. Very occasionally, we attend a work order where there is a fault that we have not been informed about (i.e. a stopcock that does not stop water flow). If we are unable to complete the planned work as a result of this (i.e. changing bathroom taps which becomes impossible if we cannot switch the water off) then we will charge a 1 hour call-out fee to cover our costs incurred.
a. When we give a quotation for work it assumes that all the information we are given by the homeowner is correct. If, for example, we are asked to tile a concrete sub-floor which then turns out to be a suspended chipboard floor, the homeowner must bear the additional reasonable cost to make the sub-floor good. Homeowners who are unsure of certain facts are advised to say so during the quotation appointment.
5. Dripbusters Ltd provides a 2 year warranty on all workmanship and a 1 year warranty on parts supplied by us. This warranty comes into effect when full, cleared payment has been made by the customer and is subject to the following exclusions/limitations: -
a. Any evidence of tampering with installed parts or the surrounding workmanship will invalidate the warranty. This includes both DIY work and work by other companies.
b. Dripbusters Ltd will visit your property to remedy warranty faults at the earliest opportunity.
6. For domestic customers, payment becomes due on the day of completion of work. Payment by either cash or cheque is accepted. At the discretion of Dripbusters Ltd, late payments may attract interest at the Bank of England rate plus 8%.
7. For business customers, payment terms will be detailed on the invoice. Payment by cheque or bank transfer is accepted. Late payments will incur interest charges in accordance with the Late Payments of Commercial Debts Act 1998. This act allows us to charge 8% above the current Bank of England base rate.
8. All deliveries to customers, whether from Dripbusters Ltd or HPS (our supplier) shall be signed for on arrival. The signature indicates that the goods have been delivered as per the delivery note. Any errors should be noted and signed for on the delivery note by both the driver and customer.
9. Customers should then check the delivery and report any faults within 48 hours of delivery to us by email or writing (a letter stamped by Royal Mail within this 48 hour timeframe complies with this policy). Claims for damaged or missing goods after this time will not be honoured. This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
10. Heating systems that are not maintained correctly can cause unforeseen problems when draining and refilling the system. Corrosion (indicated by black or rusty water on draining the system) caused by lack of maintenance can cause blockages when systems are drained and refilled. If electrical control systems do not meet current standards problems can occur when replacing faulty controls. Dripbusters Ltd will make all reasonable efforts to advise customers of these issues in advance but customers should be aware that poorly maintained heating systems may mean further unforeseen work being required. This work would have additional costs attached.
